One duplex document in place of two separate steps meant fewer touches at the bench and fewer documents to match — a steadier, more predictable pack.
With the packing slip printed into the label, the single-use plastic document envelopes were no longer needed and could be removed from every parcel.

Packing time fell from over two minutes a parcel to around 15 seconds. Across a comparable bench running a five-step routine at about 45 seconds a parcel, the same change lands at about 10 seconds — the basis for the “up to 85%” figure used elsewhere on this site.
