As online orders grew, Welkoop wanted a simpler, tidier way to get parcels out of the door. The retailer's team was running the familiar two-document routine: a shipping label from one process and a printed packing slip from another, brought together by hand and slipped into a plastic pouch before the box could ship.
Welkoop adopted the A5 Print & Ship label to collapse those steps into one. The shipping label and packing slip were combined onto a single A5 sheet, imaged in one duplex pass on the printers the team already had.
Built into nShift Transsmart
A large part of the appeal was that nothing new had to be bolted on. Welkoop was already using nShift Transsmart to manage its carriers and shipments, and the A5 Print & Ship label is generated directly from within it. The combined document was produced as part of the existing shipping workflow, so the change at the bench was small while the effect on throughput was not.
- Shipping label and packing slip merged into one duplex document
- Generated directly from nShift Transsmart
- Printed on the retailer's existing duplex laser printers
- The single-use plastic document pouch removed from the process
A cleaner bench, a faster line
With one document to print and apply instead of two to print, match, and insert, the packing process became quicker and harder to get wrong — the label and its contents always came from the same sheet. Removing the plastic pouch was a welcome bonus for a retailer whose customers care about the garden and the outdoors.
One document, printed once, applied once — the sort of quiet efficiency that adds up across a busy dispatch season.
Welkoop's move was an early example of the pattern Pinnpoint sees again and again: teams that already run nShift Transsmart can start with little more than the label stock and a duplex laser printer.
